Hell In The Middle
Race Date Saturday 11th February
Distance Around 10 Miles
Venue Cannock Chase
it was a cold icy morning for hellrunner 2012 ,it was a different course to last year which was great as the walk to the start was cut short by 50% which was a problem last year.the course measured around 9.3 miles slightly shorter than the race was advertised for ,however this was due the the icy conditions and the danger from falling over and breaking ankles, its a great course if you like hills as there are plenty of steep inclines and descents to contend with which are very energy zapping ,only one water obstacle this year which was a shame however it was freezing and contained large chunks of ice which was a shock to the system.received a t shirt medal and loads of freebies at the finish.great race if you like hills? by Neil

The Rauceby Ripper

Race Date Saturday 4th February 2012
Distance 8.5 Miles
Venue Rauceby
6 Members of Toonie Express Adventure Racing Club, Dave Raynes, Dave Tilley, David Foster, Mark Sands, Catherine Simpson and Diana Flint joined 200 + runners on the 2nd running of the Rauceby Ripper trail race on Saturday 4th Feb. The promised snow held off and we arrived at the village hall nice and early . It was extremely cold but perfect running conditions and once under way it was soon warm enough to ditch the hat. Most of the route was off road and was slippery in places but nothing too difficult being mostly one of our training routes including a trip around high wood, we soon arrived back in the village after 8.5 miles to cheers and applause. There was hot drinks and cakes to purchase afterwards and we received a nice goodie bag with a golden shoe memento. This is a very well organised event which will certainly grow . by Catherine
